The intern will be attached to a risk management department responsible for risk quantification, risk disclosure and portfolio optimisation. In particular, the intern will assist in digital transformation initiatives across various departmental functions.
These initiatives include:
- Process automation: To assist in developing automation solutions in order to enhance the efficiency and quality of processes related to internal and regulatory reporting. This will provide the intern an overview of the regular business-as-usual cycles underlying the department's risk analysis and disclosure functions.
- Exploratory model development using alternative techniques and data: To assist in developing credit risk models using advanced data science techniques and new types of data. This will allow the intern to develop an appreciation of practical considerations involving the use of machine learning algorithms and big data.
- Model management toolkit: To assist in developing a Python-based toolkit facilitating the validation of credit risk models, comprising statistical tests, conditional analyses and report generation. This will allow the intern an understanding of the internal assurance process for the continued fitness for use of credit risk models.
