Singapore Career Summit and Career Fair 2024
After a five-year hiatus, BestTop Consulting proudly hosted our Annual Singapore Career Fair and Career Summit on October 12th 2024. This year, we had the honor of welcoming six distinguished industry speakers at our morning Career Summit, which attracted over 100 participants.
The highlights of the Summit featured a session on “A Guide to Landing Financial Roles in Singapore” by Linyi from Nomura, followed by insights from Mike of BGC, on “How to Ace a Management Consulting Case Interview,” and a sharing on “Mastering Data Analytics with Singapore Tech Lead” by Dean from DataRobot.
Following the Summit, the Singapore Career Fair 2024, which showcased over 20 companies from various renowned industries such as fintech, wealth management, investment funds, technology, blockchain, and others, welcomed over 200 participants from different backgrounds.
Resume Tips Sharing with AIESEC in SMU
We collaborated with AIESEC, the world’s largest youth-driven non-profit organization, specifically the SMU branch, to share valuable tips and tricks for navigating the corporate world by perfecting resumes. The session on October 17th 2024 provided students with practical insights and knowledge, enabling them to enhance their job applications and approach future career opportunities with confidence.
Marketing Excellence Workshop at SIM
In October, BestTop Consulting hosted a Marketing Excellence Workshop in collaboration with Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) Career Connect, featuring guest speaker Jenny Zhao, with over 13 years of experience in global branding and international marketing.
Students not only learned essential marketing strategies but also engaged in dynamic, hands-on exercises, receiving personalized feedback on crafting marketing plans and presenting them in group settings. The interactive nature of the workshop provided valuable insights, leaving participants better equipped for their future careers in marketing.

This comprehensive session provided valuable insights into Singapore's rapidly growing family office sector, covering the latest industry trends and prospects analysis, strategies for learning wealth management and asset allocation, exclusive internship opportunities at Singapore family offices, and real workplace experience sharing through interactive Q&A sessions.
The session was led by a distinguished industry expert who is a former global top-tier investment bank executive with extensive wealth management experience and currently serves as CEO of a well-known Singapore family office, bringing unique insights into family office operations and career development strategies.
Management Trainee
This comprehensive session covered essential knowledge about management trainee programs, including what these programs entail, key considerations during the recruitment process, and strategic guidance on applying for full-time management trainee positions versus summer internship programs.
The session also featured valuable insights from current management trainees sharing their daily experiences and answering questions. Led by the BestTop CEO and co-founder, who brings extensive experience from global top-tier investment bank management trainee programs and has successfully guided numerous graduates into prestigious programs including BestTop Class of 2022 alumni now working in European investment banking and BestTop Class of 2021 alumni in major bank headquarters role.

In August, we gathered for an enlightening session with our Finance mentor, who revealed the secrets to landing job offers in Singapore's competitive finance industry, even without local educational or internship backgrounds. With insightful tips and personal anecdotes, the evening was a true game-changer for aspiring finance job-seekers.
Networking Party
In July, this event welcomed mentors, students from the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), students from the City University of Hong Kong, and BestTop’s students, providing them an excellent opportunity to expand their professional networks while enjoying delicious food and drinks. The night was wrapped up successfully, with mentors and participants exchanging contact information and building meaningful connections.
SAIF Singapore Career Trek 2024
We have arranged an enriching three-day itinerary for students coming from Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), featuring company visits with a total of 7 international companies quartering in Singapore.
During their stay, students were able to gain valuable insights from various companies and enhance their knowledge of the field. Students were also given numerous opportunities to network with industry professionals and to immerse themselves in the local culture by sightseeing and enjoying the different kinds of local delicacies.
FutureTech Summit 2024
In July, we hosted a summit focusing on AI and Data, attracting approximately 100 participants from diverse backgrounds. The event featured three professional speakers who shared their experiences of using AI in their respective fields, the complex correlation between data and AI, and how they can function in different fields.
In addition, they also shared some stories of their own professional journeys and their perspectives on the future trajectories of the rapidly evolving industry. The event concluded with a casual networking session where participants could engage and exchange ideas directly with the speakers.
ESG Sharing
This session provided insights into ESG careers in Singapore, covering essential skills for ESG professionals, transitioning from finance to ESG roles, and identifying ideal candidate profiles for ESG positions.
Led by Valerie Law, a CFA-certified Research Lead and ESG Analyst, the workshop included a Polaris Industry Masterclass covering ESG roles in finance, key ESG factors, engagement principles, disclosure requirements, and integrating ESG into investment analysis.
This valuable session enhanced our understanding of the growing ESG sector and provided practical career guidance for sustainable finance and responsible investing opportunities.
Career Guide Series at SMU
The event provided essential insights into the investment industry, covering topics such as the types of investment companies job seekers must know about, differences in work content and nature across various investment positions, essential skills required for entry-level investment roles, and the valuable role of internships and referrals in securing employment.
The session was led by Ke Yan, an experienced mentor with 10 years of overseas stock market research experience and expertise as an industry and strategy analyst covering manufacturing, consumer goods, metals and mining, and healthcare sectors, as well as controlling company arbitrage and equity capital markets (ECM) trading strategies.

In February, we hosted a career sharing session at Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). During this interactive session, we delivered an in-depth overview of Singapore's job market, highlighting current industry trends, emerging sectors, and growth opportunities across various fields including technology, finance, healthcare, and professional services. We shared practical guidance on effective resume writing techniques, career advice on strategic career planning.
We also conducted hands-on workshops on essential job hunting skills, including effective networking strategies, leveraging digital platforms like LinkedIn, identifying suitable job opportunities, and building a strong professional brand.
